Hi it's been a few days of sweltering heat..Wanted to wander around the campus and take a few pictures but wandering around at 35C is too much.   Just have a couple of pictures....will try to do better in cooler weather.

Perseid Meteor Shower

Went out tonight with a friend to see the meteors.  Saw three...better than none.

Mountain biking at Pineview Valley

Who knew this existed at the end of the road. ...Saw lots of vehicles with bike racks but I guess all of the bikers were out on the trail.  Also a great sign about noxious weeds.

Dragon boat races and Rod Stewart (tribute)

What a great day....another well done Kamloops. Riverside Park is the perfect locale foe all kinds of activities.

Ribfest

What a great time in Riverside Park. ...ribs and a beer in the beer garden. Great music too!

Hot Night in the City car show

I got a few pictures of this annual event.  Fortunately a friend has given me permission to use some of hers too.
As usual there were great cars,trucks and many more there.

Studebaker Club of the Southern Interior

Went to see these beauties before we went downtown to take in the cars at Hot Night in the city.
It was amazing to me that the back of these cars looked almost as good as the front.
Also note that the price of the Avanti in 1988 was twice as much as a Cadillac.

Monte Lake

Some views of the lake, cornflowers and the clouds.   The sky was beautiful the day of our trip.

Westwold

Saw this beautiful Mule deer having a bite to eat under the irrigation pipes as we were driving into Westwood.   Also a scene as we drove into the valley.  Apparently this was the center of a  volcano that's why it's such a wide flat area.

Douglas Lake Ranch

A bit of the history....hard to believe how long it's been there.

Also the log church of the Nicola Indian Band with a few of the roadside shrine to Mary.
