Mount Baker. ...view from Abbotsford

Much better view of the majesty of the mountain while driving on the highway but too difficult to get a picture.  Stopped and stood on a bench for these ones.

Viewpoint overlooking Howe Sound

As promised from the other side of the highway.  Still lots of trees in the way. Another beautiful sunny September day though.

A walk out back at the Executive Suites Hotel in Squamish

Onto the old golf course where they now play "disc golf".  The sun was shining and the only wildlife were the Canada geese.  Did see three coyotes on the course during one visit here.

Walk around downtown Squamish

Through the park,  saw some sculptures, some boats on the water and a man carving a Canoe.  The Chieftain  is the bar that was featured in the Anne Heche TV series "Men  in Trees ".  The rainbow crosswalk wasn't there at that time.

Lookout over Howe Sound

On the way to Squamish...unfortunately on the wrong side of the highway. Better pictures tomorrow on the way home.

Harrison Hot Springs and Harrison Lake.

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Squamish.  What a sunny September day!

Views from the tower at the Reifel bird sanctuary

Some views of the saltwater marshes and Roberts bank where the coal trains from the Kootenays off load.

Ducks and a Blue Heron

Some birds just don't want to pose for pictures.  Captured the mallards but missed the wood ducks.  The blue heron just didn't show up well.

Birds and the bee

Redwing Blackbirds, Chickadees  and a big bumblebee.

Reifel Bird Sanctuary, Westham Island

Went for a wonderful afternoon walk, feeding the birds and enjoying the outdoors.

Now that I have set the scene, will show the birds in the next post.

Some trees of the Pacific Northwest

Trees in my sister's yard and some from our walk on Westham Island.  One tree was planted  my nephew as a seedling about 25 years ago.
